Placements24 is seeking a Remote Insurance Product Developer to design, build, and launch innovative insurance products from concept through market introduction. You will work remotely from anywhere in South Africa, collaborating with actuarial, marketing, sales and legal teams to ensure competitive, compliant products aligned with customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Actuarial Science or related discipline.
• MBA or equivalent is a plus.
• 6+ years in insurance product development or related strategic role in financial services.
• Strong understanding of SA insurance products, markets, and regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and management of new insurance products from concept to launch.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and gaps.
• Collaborate with actuarial to ensure pricing, reserving, and financial viability.
• Coordinate with marketing and sales for product positioning and launch strategies.
• Ensure designs comply with regulatory requirements and legal frameworks.
• Manage product lifecycle including performance monitoring and enhancements.
• Develop and maintain product documentation and training materials.
• Present proposals to senior management and stakeholders.
• Foster relationships with internal teams and external partners for execution.
• Explore new technologies and customer insights to drive innovation.
