Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Insurance Claims Assessor to join our expanding virtual operations team in South Africa. The role focuses on investigating, evaluating, and settling claims with a high degree of accuracy and autonomy.

You will manage end-to-end claims processes from a remote setting, using industry-standard software and video conferencing to communicate with policyholders and witnesses, while upholding regulatory requirements and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Finance or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of insurance claims assessment experience.
• Knowledge of policies, legal frameworks, and investigations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and ability to manage high-volume remote claims.
• Proficient with claims software and virtual communication tools.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process insurance claims across lines of business.
• Investigate circumstances, gather documentation and evidence.
• Evaluate claim validity based on policy coverage and guidelines.
• Communicate with claimants, witnesses, and policyholders via phone, email, and video.
• Determine liability and authorize payments within delegated authority.
• Negotiate settlements where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate claim files in the claims management system.
• Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate as needed.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements and industry practices.
• Contribute to process improvements for efficiency and customer satisfaction.
