Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Helpdesk Technician to join the IT department, working remotely with a focus on Randburg operations. You will handle end-user issues, diagnose hardware and software problems, and ensure IT systems run smoothly.

As the first point of contact, you will document solutions, use ticketing systems, and escalate complex problems to senior staff. A customer-focused communicator with strong technical knowledge is ideal for a flexible, remote environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Helpdesk Technician or similar IT support role.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/macOS), and common software.
• Experience with remote support tools and IT ticketing systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve technical support requests via phone, email, or tickets.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computers and peripherals.
• Document issues and solutions in the knowledge base.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT staff or vendors when needed.
