Placements24 is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineer to join a fully remote team serving the Mossel Bay region and beyond. You will analyze soil and rock conditions, inform foundation design, and assess slope stability for infrastructure projects using advanced geotechnical software.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical), 5+ years of experience, and strong writing/communication for remote collaboration with clients and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical specialization.
• Minimum of 5 years' geotechnical investigation and design experience.
• Proficiency in PLAXIS, GeoStudio or similar.
• Experience interpreting site investigation data and lab test analysis.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work autonomously in a remote setup.
• Excellent technical writing and communication for remote clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze soil and rock data to assess ground conditions for construction projects.
• Prepare geotechnical investigation reports with foundation design recommendations.
• Develop soil improvement strategies and slope stabilization designs.
• Use geotechnical software for modeling and analysis of subsurface conditions.
• Collaborate with project teams remotely, providing expert advice on geotechnical designs.
• Ensure geotechnical designs comply with codes and environmental regulations.
