Placements24 seeks a specialized Civil Engineer in Geotechnical Engineering for a fully remote position, supporting projects across locations including Port Elizabeth. You will assess ground conditions, design foundations, and prepare geotechnical reports to guide project planning and risk mitigation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years' geotechnical experience, strong soil mechanics knowledge, and proficiency with PLAXIS and GeoStudio for virtual collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical specialization.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in geotechnical investigations and design.
• Proficiency in PLAXIS and GeoStudio geotechnical software.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and geology.
• Ability to interpret site data and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Excellent report writing and communication for virtual collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site investigations and geotechnical assessments including soil testing.
• Design foundations, retaining walls and other geotechnical structures.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports with risk assessments and recommendations.
• Provide guidance on soil-behavior, slope stability and ground improvement.
• Collaborate remotely with design engineers and construction teams.
• Stay updated on geotechnical software and industry advancements.
