Placements24 is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer for a Centurion-based role focused on diverse construction projects in Gauteng. You will assess ground conditions, advise on foundation design, slope stability and earthworks, and contribute to safe, robust developments.

The ideal candidate has an MSc/MEng in Geotechnical Engineering with 6+ years of geotechnical investigations and strong reporting and communication skills. Remote-first arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• MSc or MEng in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of geotechnical investigations and design experience.
• Proficient with geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance, drilling supervision, and in-situ testing.
• Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to develop foundation designs and recommendations.
• Perform stability analyses for slopes, excavations, and retaining structures.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing any geotechnical challenges.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and other engineers to communicate geotechnical findings and requirements.
