About the Role

Our client, a national logistics provider, is seeking an experienced Remote Fleet Maintenance Scheduler to join their dedicated team. This role is crucial for ensuring the optimal uptime and longevity of our extensive fleet of vehicles. Working entirely remotely, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections for our vehicles operating across various regions, including those servicing Stellenbosch . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fleet management or mechanical administration, coupled with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage complex schedules from a distance. You will liaise closely with external service providers and internal maintenance teams to ensure all vehicles meet stringent safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for the entire fleet.
• Coordinate and book vehicle servicing, repairs, and inspections with approved workshops and mechanics.
• Track all maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion and accurate record-keeping.
• Manage the procurement and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies as needed.
• Monitor vehicle service histories to identify recurring issues and proactively address them.
• Ensure all fleet maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, workshop managers, and operations personnel regarding maintenance schedules and vehicle availability.

Requirements

• Proven experience in fleet maintenance coordination, mechanical administration, or a similar role, ideally in a remote setting.
• Strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance requirements for commercial fleets.
• Proficiency with fleet management software and maintenance scheduling tools.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage complex schedules remotely.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of South African roadworthy certification and safety standards.
• Experience in managing service level agreements with external providers is a plus.
• Must possess a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace for remote operation.
