Placements24 seeks a Remote Fleet Maintenance Scheduler to plan and oversee preventive maintenance for an extensive vehicle fleet. The role operates fully remotely, coordinating with external workshops and internal teams to keep vehicles in safe, reliable condition across regions including Stellenbosch.

The ideal candidate has fleet maintenance coordination experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with scheduling software, with excellent communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

• Proven experience coordinating fleet maintenance, preferably in a remote or distributed setting.
• Solid understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance needs for commercial fleets.
• Experience using fleet management software and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule for the fleet.
• Coordinate servicing, repairs, and inspections with workshops and mechanics.
• Track maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion and accurate records.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement as needed.
• Monitor service histories to identify recurring issues and address them proactively.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations.
• Communicate schedules and vehicle availability to drivers and operations.
• Generate reports on maintenance costs, downtime, and adherence to schedules.
• Identify potential issues from driver feedback and telematics data.
• Manage warranty claims and service contracts.
