This position is crucial for ensuring the efficient scheduling, tracking, and communication of our fleet across South Africa. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule daily delivery routes for a fleet of vehicles across various Eastern Cape locations and beyond, ensuring maximum efficiency and timely deliveries.
• Utilize dispatch management software and GPS tracking systems to monitor vehicle locations, progress, and ETAs in real-time.
• Communicate effectively with drivers via phone, email, and messaging platforms to provide route updates, address issues, and assign new tasks.
• Respond promptly to driver inquiries, operational challenges, and customer service requests.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential delivery delays or disruptions, rerouting vehicles as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, delivery confirmations, and driver performance metrics.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as warehouse and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on fleet performance, delivery success rates, and key operational insights.
• Optimize routes and schedules based on traffic conditions, delivery priorities, and driver availability.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics, dispatch, or fleet management, preferably in a remote or virtual capacity.
• Proficiency with dispatch software (e.g., RouteXL, OptimoRoute, Maxoptra) and GPS tracking systems.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a remote team effectively.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Proficient in using standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
• Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office space conducive to focused work.
• Understanding of South African geographical regions and transportation networks, particularly Eastern Cape.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certifications in logistics are a plus.
