Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic Financial Planning Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning from Pretoria, Gauteng. You will provide critical insights to executives, drive profitability, and ensure financial stability, with a remote-first collaboration across teams.

The role requires 6+ years in FP&A or Banking & Finance, strong modelling and Excel skills, and leadership capability to mentor a team of analysts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• MBA or professional qualification (CA, CFA, CIMA) preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of FP&A, corporate finance, or related Banking & Finance experience.
• Led budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
• Strong Excel and familiarity with BI tools and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Experience in a remote or remote-first work environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts for the organisation.
• Develop and maintain long-term financial plans and strategic modelling to support business objectives.
• Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and providing actionable insights.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports, management presentations, and dashboards for senior leadership.
• Collaborate with department heads to gather financial data and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency improvements.
• Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering professional development.
• Evaluate the financial implications of new business initiatives, investments, and strategic projects.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data used for planning and reporting.
• Stay abreast of FP&A best practices and emerging trends.
