Placements24 is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer for a fully remote role in South Africa. Your focus will be on the design, integration, and testing of electrical architectures for advanced energy storage systems, with an emphasis on power electronics and BMS interfaces.

Qualificações

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of electrical system design experience, with battery technologies or energy storage.
Proficiency with electrical CAD software and simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink).
Strong understanding of BMS principles, including cell balancing, SoC estimation, and thermal management.
Experience with high‑voltage DC systems and power electronics.
Familiarity with UL, IEC energy storage standards.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for a remote working environment.

Responsabilidades

Design electrical architectures for advanced energy storage systems.
Specify and select electrical components, including power converters, inverters, and protection devices.
Develop and implement Battery Management Systems (BMS) logic and interfaces.
Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system integration plans.
Perform simulations and analysis (e.g., transient analysis, thermal management) to optimize system performance.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams in a remote environment.
Oversee the assembly, testing, and validation of electrical subsystems and integrated systems.
Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and implement effective engineering solutions.
Ensure all designs meet stringent safety standards and regulatory requirements for energy storage systems.
