About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding national logistics company, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Remote Dispatch Coordinator to join their virtual operations team. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods across various regions, managed entirely from a remote work setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating drivers, managing delivery schedules, troubleshooting logistical challenges, and maintaining clear communication channels between drivers, clients, and operational hubs. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule daily deliveries and pick-ups for a fleet of drivers across various territories.
• Monitor driver progress and delivery status in real-time using specialized software.
• Proactively identify and resolve logistical issues, such as delays, route changes, or vehicle breakdowns, to minimize disruption.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing them with necessary instructions and support.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery updates, ETAs, and any issues that may arise.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all dispatch activities, driver assignments, and delivery confirmations in the system.
• Collaborate with other internal departments to ensure seamless logistics operations.
• Analyze delivery performance data and provide feedback to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Manage communication flow to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aligned.
• Handle urgent requests and adapt dispatch plans dynamically to meet changing operational needs, all while working remotely.

Requirements

• Proven experience in logistics coordination, dispatching, or a similar role within the transport industry.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to interact professionally with drivers and clients.
• Proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and other relevant technology platforms.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office space conducive to remote work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain high productivity levels.
• Familiarity with South African logistics and geography is advantageous.
• A proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to work flexible hours, potentially including evenings or weekends, as required by a 24/7 operation.
