Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Wind Turbine Performance Analyst to join their renewable energy team. The role focuses on monitoring turbine performance, analyzing data, and delivering insights to maximize energy production from wind farms across South Africa.

You will work independently from a home office, using SCADA data and tools like MATLAB, Python or R to diagnose issues, develop predictive maintenance strategies, and report KPIs to optimise availability and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of wind turbine performance analysis or related renewable energy experience.
• Proficiency with wind turbine SCADA systems and data analysis software (MATLAB, Python, R).
• Strong understanding of wind turbine technology, aerodynamics, and power generation principles.
• Excellent data interpretation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor real-time performance data from a portfolio of wind turbines using specialized software platforms.
• Analyze operational data to detect anomalies, diagnose faults, and identify areas for performance improvement.
• Generate regular performance reports, including energy production, availability, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with site technicians and operations teams to troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and refine data analysis techniques to enhance predictive maintenance strategies and reduce operational costs.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring systems and analytical tools.
