Placements24 is seeking experienced Wind Turbine Technicians for a field-based role with extensive travel to wind farm sites across South Africa. You will perform maintenance, diagnose faults, and repair turbine components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

The role requires hands-on mechanical/electrical expertise, diagnostic tool proficiency, and the ability to work independently at heights, with travel and safety compliance as priorities.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification (NQF 4/5) in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience as a Wind Turbine Technician or in a similar field.
• Strong understanding of wind turbine systems, including generators and gearboxes.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine scheduled maintenance, inspections, and servicing of wind turbines.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on turbine components.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and specialized equipment to troubleshoot complex issues.

About the Role

While the role is remote in terms of administrative tasks and reporting, it requires extensive travel to wind farm sites across various regions for scheduled maintenance and urgent repairs.
