Job summary

Werkie is seeking a Solar Performance Engineer for a remote role focusing on monitoring and optimizing a portfolio of PV sites. The role involves building dashboards, automating reports, and using SQL/Python to support performance analyses and investment decisions.

You will work with AlsoEnergy PowerTrack, PVsyst/SAM, and BI tools to quantify availability, PR, and production gaps, while collaborating with O&M teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in solar performance engineering or related analytics.
• Knowledge of PV system fundamentals and performance modelling tools.
• Experience with SCADA/DAS platforms and BI/reporting pipelines.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and site layouts.
• Experience with AI tools to accelerate analysis with validation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily/weekly performance of PV sites against expected production.
• Identify underperformance at site, inverter, and tracker levels using SCADA/DAS.
• Maintain dashboards (Metabase/Power BI) for fleet health.
• Design and implement alarming and monitoring tools to scale with fleet growth.
• Support procurement/engineering with data on equipment reliability.
