Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a dedicated Community Support Officer to serve Pietermaritzburg and surrounding communities remotely. You will provide guidance, advocacy, and access to vital social services for vulnerable individuals and families.

You will conduct remote needs assessments, develop personalized support plans, and connect clients with resources online, maintaining confidential records and promoting equitable access to services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in community support or social care.
• Experience with remote client assessments and developing support strategies.
• Excellent communication, listening, and empathetic engagement.
• Proficiency with digital communication tools and client management software.
• Strong knowledge of South Africa social welfare systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct remote needs assessments to understand client circumstances and identify appropriate support pathways.
• Develop and implement personalized support plans in collaboration with clients and relevant stakeholders.
• Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and practical advice through virtual channels.
