Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Community Support Coordinator to lead and coordinate community outreach programs from anywhere in South Africa. The role focuses on connecting people with social services, organizing remote groups, and partnering with local agencies to bridge resource gaps.

You will manage confidential records, support individuals facing challenges, and help evaluate program impact while fostering an inclusive online community for participants.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in community outreach, social work, or program coordination in a non‑profit setting.
• Experience managing remote teams or coordinating virtual programs and events.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and active listening skills.
• Proficiency with virtual tools (Zoom/Teams), CRM systems, and digital platforms.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills in a remote setting.
• Understanding of South Africa's social welfare resources.
• Reliable internet connection and a dedicated remote workspace.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and provide references.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage community outreach programs to connect individuals with essential social services.
• Coordinate remote support group sessions, workshops, and counseling appointments.
• Liaise with community leaders, government agencies, and partner organizations to identify needs.
• Maintain confidential records of client interactions and outcomes on digital platforms.
• Provide remote assistance to community members facing social challenges, including financial hardship and health access.
• Organize distribution of resources via remote coordination with volunteers and distribution points.
• Contribute to program evaluation metrics and reporting on impact.
• Foster a supportive online environment for all program participants.
