Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Compliance Officer for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs to ensure adherence to AML, KYC, POPIA, and FICA, and advise on regulatory matters.

With 4–6 years in banking or financial services and a Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field, you will conduct risk assessments, internal audits, and training, liaising with regulators and auditors while maintaining thorough records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in compliance within banking/financial services.
• Strong understanding of AML, KYC, POPIA, FICA regulations.
• Experience with compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Proven analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs and policies.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on operations.
• Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Investigate compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide training on compliance-related matters to staff.
