About the Role

Our client, a prestigious leisure and sports organization, is looking for a dedicated Recreation Facilities Supervisor to manage and maintain their state-of-the-art facilities in Centurion, Gauteng. This critical role involves ensuring that all sports venues, grounds, and associated amenities are kept to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of recreation facilities, including sports fields, courts, gyms, and changing rooms.
• Manage a team of facility attendants, groundskeepers, and cleaning staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Develop and implement regular maintenance and cleaning schedules to ensure facilities are presentable and safe.
• Conduct routine inspections of all facilities and equipment to identify and address any safety hazards or maintenance needs.
• Oversee the setup and teardown of facilities for events, training sessions, and competitions.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, maintenance equipment, and sports consumables.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to facility operations.
• Respond promptly to facility issues and emergencies, coordinating necessary repairs and actions.
• Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
• Assist in budget planning and management for facility operations and maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in facility management, operations supervision, or a similar role, preferably within the Leisure & Sports industry.
• Demonstrable leadership and team management skills.
• Strong knowledge of facility maintenance, groundskeeping, and health & safety standards.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and safety guidelines.
• Experience in managing budgets and controlling operational costs.
• Proficiency in using maintenance scheduling software and basic computer applications.
• A commitment to providing a high-quality user experience for all facility patrons.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as needed.
• A relevant qualification in Facility Management, Operations, or a related field is advantageous.
