Job summary

Planet Fitness in Gauteng seeks a proactive Welcome Desk Receptionist to ensure a warm, efficient member greeting and a smooth front-desk operation. You will support club administration, handle cash, and coordinate with staff to uphold Planet Fitness service standards.

You must be able to work shifts, demonstrate strong communication, accuracy, and integrity, and possess basic PC skills. Prior front desk experience is advantageous; reliable transport is expected to maintain daily club operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a front desk environment preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Accurate cash handling and basic accounting basics desirable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced gym environment and maintain professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist with club administration when necessary.
• Manage cash and point-of-sale transactions accurately.
• Communicate with members and staff to ensure a positive experience.
• Oversee reception operations and supervise the receptionist.
• Monitor access for staff and members to ensure security and smooth flow.
• Control stock relevant to the reception area.
• Resolve member complaints promptly and professionally.
• Provide training to the receptionist and support staff.

• Ability to motivate staff and lead by example
• Advanced levels of administrative accuracy

• Display uncompromising levels of honesty and integrity
• Have excellent communication skills and be able to liaise at all levels
• Intermediate PC skills
• Must be able to work shifts
• Possess high level energy levels
• Previous experience within a front desk or welcome desk position added advantage
• Proven track record in managing staff, planning, organising, conflict handling and problem solving
• Have reliable transport
