Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an expert Radio Access Network (RAN) Specialist to join our Durban team. You will plan, design, optimize, and maintain mobile RAN infrastructure, ensuring superior network performance and user experience.

The role requires deep RAN knowledge including 4G/LTE and 5G NR, with ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a hybrid work setting. You will design RAN solutions, optimize performance, and stay ahead of new RAN tech while producing documentation and providing hands-on

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related field is required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in RAN planning, deployment and optimization.
Deep knowledge of 4G/LTE and 5G NR technologies (MIMO, beamforming, spectrum management).
Experience with major RAN vendors (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and implement RAN network solutions including site planning and capacity management.
Optimize RAN performance via metrics analysis and tuning strategies.
Troubleshoot RAN issues with field ops and core network teams.
Stay updated on new RAN technologies, vendor advancements, and best practices.
Develop and maintain RAN documentation and procedures.
Conduct performance testing and validation for new deployments and upgrades.
