Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Radio Access Network (RAN) Specialist to join its Bloemfontein team on a hybrid basis. You will design, deploy, optimize, and maintain RAN networks to ensure high performance and coverage for 4G/5G services. The role emphasizes problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration with field engineers.

Ideal candidates have deep RAN knowledge, 4G/5G experience, and proficiency with drive tests and planning tools. Occasional site travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Telecommunications or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in RAN design, deployment and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan new RAN sites with antenna placement and equipment selection.
• Configure, test, and commission RAN equipment including base stations and antennas.
• Monitor RAN KPIs and optimize performance.
• Troubleshoot RAN issues: interference, coverage gaps, capacity.
• Analyze drive test data and performance reports for improvements.
• Collaborate with field engineers for deployments and upgrades.
• Stay updated on 5G advancements and RAN tech trends.
