Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an expert Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer to join their team in Port Elizabeth. You will design, implement and optimize RAN elements to improve capacity and coverage, while troubleshooting issues and driving performance enhancements.

The role requires 4–6 years of RAN experience and a solid understanding of GSM, WCDMA, LTE and 5G NR, with hands-on use of planning and monitoring tools. A collaborative, forward‑thinking telecoms environment awaits in the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related field.
• 4–6 years of RAN engineering experience in telecoms.
• Strong knowledge of GSM, WCDMA, LTE and 5G NR.
• Experience with RAN planning and optimization tools.
• Ability to analyze network performance data.
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and deploy RAN elements including base stations and antennas.
• Optimize RAN performance for capacity, coverage and quality.
• Troubleshoot RAN hardware, software and configuration issues.
• Conduct site surveys and drive tests to assess performance.
• Collaborate with core network teams for seamless integration.
• Stay updated with latest RAN technologies and standards.
