Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer in Klerksdorp to design, deploy, and optimize the radio network for 4G/5G services across the North West province.

You will configure base stations, monitor performance, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to drive network upgrades while maintaining robust coverage and QoS for subscribers. Hybrid work model offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as listed in Requirements.
• Significant experience in RAN engineering and mobile architectures (2G/3G/4G/5G).
• Proficiency with RAN planning/optimization tools and methodologies.
• Experience with major telecom equipment vendors (Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan RAN solutions including site selection, capacity planning, and frequency allocation.
• Configure, integrate, and commission base stations and RAN equipment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, interference, coverage issues, and dropped calls.
• Optimize performance via parameter tuning, software upgrades, and drive tests.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on network evolution and upgrades.
