Placements24 is assisting with a role for an experienced Claims Assessor based in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will handle property insurance claims from intake through settlement, maintaining strong communication with policyholders and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Claims Assessor or similar role.
• Experience with property insurance claims.
• Understanding of insurance principles, policy wordings, and claims procedures.
• Proficient with claims management software and office applications.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site inspections in Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle property insurance claims promptly and fairly.
• Conduct site inspections and assess damages as needed.
• Interpret policy wordings to determine coverage and liability.
• Gather evidence, reports, and statements for a claim.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders and third parties.
• Maintain accurate records in the claims management system.
• Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate suspicious claims.
• Provide guidance to policyholders throughout the claims lifecycle.
• Coordinate with loss adjusters, contractors, and legal representatives.
