Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial property claims.
• Tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Law or Engineering preferred.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in claims management software and standard office tools.
• Ability to manage a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel for site inspections within Midrand and surrounding areas.
• Leadership potential or mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and determine coverage for complex commercial property claims.
• Conduct site inspections and quantify losses accurately.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and stakeholders.
• Interpret policy wordings and explain decisions clearly.
• Manage a portfolio of claims with up-to-date files.
• Collaborate with loss adjusters, engineers, and legal counsel.
• Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate as needed.
• Provide guidance to junior assessors.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Prepare management reports on status, reserves and settlements.
