Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Lead Claims Adjuster to oversee claims operations in Tembisa, Gauteng. The role leads a team of adjusters, manages complex claims across property, casualty and motor, and drives efficient handling and customer service.

The successful candidate will mentor the team, shape best practices, and ensure timely resolutions while maintaining the company’s reputation for fairness and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in insurance claims adjusting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/leadership capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of South African insurance laws, regulations and claims practices.
• Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload of complex claims, with strong leadership and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of claims adjusters, providing guidance, training and performance evaluations.
• Oversee investigations, evaluation and settlement of complex claims in compliance with policy terms and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement efficient claims handling procedures to optimize processing times and reduce costs.
• Analyze claims data to identify trends, potential fraud, and areas for underwriting and risk management improvement.
• Ensure exceptional customer service to policyholders throughout the claims process.
• Liaise with legal counsel, external investigators and other stakeholders as required.
• Maintain accurate claim files and documentation.
• Contribute to development and execution of departmental strategies and objectives.
• Act as escalation point for challenging claims and inquiries.
