Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead enterprise-wide systems implementations in a fully remote setting. You will drive planning, execution, and delivery of ERP/CRM projects across departments and international locations, coordinating with IT, business analysts, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master's degree or PMP/PRINCE2 certification is highly advantageous.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years specifically focused on implementing large-scale enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, SCM, HRIS).
• Proven track record of managing projects with budgets exceeding R50 million.
• Strong understanding of system development lifecycles, software implementation methodologies, and change management principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, especially in a virtual environment.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet) and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Slack, Zoom).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and deliver results in a fully remote setting.
• Must be legally authorized to work remotely within South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex enterprise systems implementation projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, work breakdown structures, timelines, resource allocation, and comprehensive budgets.
• Manage project risks, issues, and changes effectively, implementing proactive mitigation and resolution strategies.
• Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT specialists, business analysts, department heads, and external vendors, ensuring seamless integration and adoption.
• Ensure all project deliverables meet defined quality standards and are implemented according to best practices in system deployment.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, providing regular status updates, performance reports, and facilitating virtual meetings.
• Monitor project progress against established baselines and implement necessary corrective actions to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
• Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), system training programs, and the handover to operational support teams.
• Champion Agile or hybrid project management methodologies tailored for large-scale system deployments.
