Placements24 is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager to spearhead critical digital transformation initiatives. This is a fully remote, remote-first position, offering the flexibility and autonomy to work from anywhere within South Africa.

You will be instrumental in guiding complex projects from inception through to successful delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. You will lead cross-functional teams, navigate stakeholder landscapes, and drive improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, IT, Business Administration).
• 7+ years of progressive project management experience with a focus on digital transformation or IT projects.
• Experience leading large, multi-disciplinary projects in a remote setting.
• Strong knowledge of PMP, PRINCE2, and Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with Jira, Asana, and Microsoft Project.
• Experience in remote-first environments is highly advantageous.

• Develop comprehensive project plans with scope, timelines, budgets, resources and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of complex digital transformation projects, from planning and initiation to execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among diverse project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, proactively implementing solutions to keep projects on track.
• Manage project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of company assets.
• Drive the adoption of agile and/or hybrid project management methodologies to enhance project delivery efficiency and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Conduct post-project evaluations and implement lessons learned to continuously improve project management practices.
• Champion change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and user adoption of new systems and processes.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant focus on digital transformation or IT-related projects.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects with multi-disciplinary teams in a remote setting.
• Strong understanding of project management frameworks such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and control project costs effectively.
• A strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working in a "remote-first" environment is highly advantageous.
