Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing processes and lead continuous improvement in our Vereeniging facility.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial process engineering, skills in process simulation tools, and a strong Lean Six Sigma mindset to ensure safe, compliant operations and high-quality output. You will work with R&D, Production, and Quality Assurance to drive scale-up and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering within industrial manufacturing.
• Proven ability in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Strong command of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles (certifications preferred).

Responsibilities

• Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, yield, and cost reduction.
• Design, develop, and implement new process technologies and methodologies.
• Conduct feasibility studies and pilot testing for new processes and equipment.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation (P&IDs, SOPs, control strategies).
• Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Quality Assurance to ensure successful implementation and scale-up.
• Troubleshoot process issues to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
