Placements24 in Vereeniging, Gauteng, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing facility. This hybrid role focuses on implementing lean manufacturing methods to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality through data-driven analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead Kaizen events, map processes, conduct time studies, develop SOPs, and mentor production staff on best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial engineering with emphasis on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
• Proven experience in facilitating improvement projects and driving change in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
• Analyze production data to identify root causes of inefficiencies and quality issues.
• Implement lean manufacturing tools and techniques, such as 5S, VSM, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
• Conduct time studies and process mapping to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
• Train and mentor production staff on continuous improvement methodologies and best practices.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on progress towards improvement goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and technological upgrades.
• Promote a culture of problem-solving and continuous learning throughout the organization.
