Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Process Design Chemical Engineer to contribute to their engineering and project execution team based in Port Elizabeth . This role will involve developing conceptual and detailed designs for new chemical processes and facilities, as well as modifications to existing plants. You will work on a variety of projects, utilizing your expertise in process modeling, equipment selection, and P&ID development. Key Responsibilities

• Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for new chemical plants and process modifications.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to determine equipment sizing and operating conditions.
• Select appropriate chemical process equipment (e.g., reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers) based on design requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimations for new process designs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, and control engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
