Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of process designs from feasibility studies through to detailed engineering, ensuring compliance with regulatory and client requirements.

• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize system performance and identify risks.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure correct selection and integration of process equipment.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Process Design Engineer to join their established team in Rustenburg . In this critical role, you will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, and development of innovative chemical processes that form the backbone of our client's operations. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and project managers, translating complex requirements into robust, efficient, and safe process solutions. This position requires a deep technical understanding and a hands‑on approach to problem-solving, ensuring the successful delivery of state‑of‑the‑art chemical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of process designs from feasibility studies through to detailed engineering, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and client requirements.
• Create and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), mass and energy balances, and equipment specifications.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize system performance, predict outcomes, and identify potential risks.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure the correct selection and integration of process equipment.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and HAZOP studies, implementing robust safety measures.
