Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer with a focus on Plant Design to join their team in Randburg . This hybrid role will involve contributing to the design and engineering of new chemical plants and the modification of existing facilities. You will work on projects from conceptualization through to detailed design, collaborating with internal teams and external consultants. This position requires a strong understanding of P&ID development, equipment specification, and safety standards, offering a dynamic blend of on-site collaboration and remote design work.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for new and existing plants.
• Specify process equipment, including reactors, pumps, heat exchangers, and distillation columns.
• Perform process design calculations and simulations.
• Ensure designs comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) during the design phase.
• Prepare technical specifications and bid packages for equipment procurement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• 5+ years of experience in chemical plant design and engineering.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Chemcad).
• Experience with P&ID development and HAZOP studies.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, requiring presence in Randburg as needed.
• Strong technical drawing and documentation skills.
