Qualifications

• Minimum technical qualification: Technical Certificate or National Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Process Controller or Operator in mining or chemical processing.
• Familiarity with DCS systems and process instrumentation.
• Understanding of metallurgical principles and operation of comminution and flotation circuits.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control mineral processing plant operations using Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
• Adjust process variables such as flow rates, pressures, and densities to optimize recovery and grade.
• Respond to plant upsets, alarms, and emergency situations.
• Maintain logs of process data, production volumes, and operating conditions.
• Collaborate with maintenance and supervisory staff to ensure smooth plant operation and troubleshoot issues.
