Placements24 is seeking a skilled Process Control Engineer to join our manufacturing operations in Port Elizabeth. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced process control systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability in chemical production units.
You will work with process engineers and operators to develop control strategies, troubleshoot issues, and deliver improvements, with opportunities for specialized training and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum 5 years in process control engineering in manufacturing or chemical plant.
- Experience with DCS/PLC and instrumentation calibration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and commission DCS and PLC systems.
- Develop APC strategies to optimize performance.
- Troubleshoot control systems and instrumentation issues.
- Define control system requirements and safety interlocks with process engineers.
- Maintain control system documentation and calibration records.
- Provide operator and maintenance training on control systems.
