Job summary
Placements24 seeks a Process Control Chemical Engineer for our Rustenburg client. You will design, implement, and maintain advanced process control systems to stabilize operations and improve efficiency in a chemical manufacturing context.
You will collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams on-site to troubleshoot issues and deploy cutting-edge control strategies, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in all work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering with focus on control systems.
- Minimum 5 years in process control engineering, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
- Proficiency with DCS/PLC platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson, Siemens).
- Strong understanding of PID tuning and advanced control techniques.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement APC strategies and solutions.
- Configure and calibrate DCS/PLC systems.
- Monitor process performance and troubleshoot control system issues.
- Develop control narratives, loop diagrams, and cause-and-effect matrices.
- Commission new control systems and optimize existing ones.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
