Job summary

Red Ember is seeking a dynamic Porter for a luxury client in Franschhoek. You will welcome guests, assist with luggage, supervise parked cars, and play a key role in supporting housekeeping and reception to ensure flawless service.

The ideal candidate holds a Matric certificate, has excellent English communication and interpersonal skills, strong physical endurance, a valid driver’s license, and is willing to work shifts including nights.

Red Ember is looking for a dynamic individual for the position of Porter for one of our clients in Franschhoek. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage various tasks on a daily basis to ensure great service and exceed guests’ expectations. You will excel in this role if you are enthusiastic and passionate about welcoming and serving guests with the willingness to go the extra mile.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist guests with their luggage, parcels, etc.
• Interacting with guests while assisting with luggage.
• Parking guests’ cars.
• Perform fundamental operational duties, such as setting up pool, placing lounger cushions, removing dishes, assisting Housekeeping and reception.
• Upselling of other facilities and services including our affiliates.

Requirements Experience and Skills

• Previous working experience in a 5 star luxury environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interact with guests.
• Efficient complaint handling.
• Be Flexible in other departments.

Inherent Requirements

• Matric Certificate.
• Good communication skills in English.
• High level of physical endurance.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work shifts including night shift.
• Preference will be given to candidates from Franschhoek and neighbouring areas.
