Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technician to join a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturer in Soweto, Gauteng. You will operate and maintain tablet presses, capsule fillers, granulators, and packaging machines, following SOPs and cGMP requirements to ensure batch quality and traceability.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least 2 years in manufacturing, and a mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A technical qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Engineering Assistant) is advantageous.
• Minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably pharmaceutical, food or cosmetics.
• Understanding of GMP principles and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment (tablet presses, capsule fillers, granulators, packaging machines).
• Follow SOPs meticulously for all processes.
• Monitor production to meet quality standards and batch specs.
• Perform in-process checks and record data in batch records.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with cGMP and safety standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and participate in preventative maintenance.
• Prepare materials and equipment for production runs.
• Report deviations, quality issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
