Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a versatile HR Generalist with strong payroll expertise for our Durban operations in KwaZulu-Natal. You will manage day-to-day HR operations, ensure accurate payroll processing, and support the employee lifecycle while advising staff on policies and benefits.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of HR generalist experience, solid SA labour-law knowledge, and proficiency with VIP Payroll, Sage, and HRIS systems. On-site role in Durban.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in HR, payroll or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR generalist roles with payroll focus.
• Solid knowledge of SA payroll regulations and tax laws.

Responsibilities

• Administer and process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
• Maintain employee data in the HRIS with high accuracy for payroll and reporting.
• Handle onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and system updates.
• Respond to payroll, benefits, and HR policy inquiries from employees.
• Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
