Job summary

Brilliant Computers in Pretoria, South Africa is seeking a Network Hands & Feet technician to provide physical onsite assistance to enable remote troubleshooting and remediation, with console connectivity to network devices and guidance from the Remote Support Team.

The role covers rack mounting, cabling, basic configuration, and post-install verification, requiring 2+ years in enterprise networks, basic TCP/IP knowledge, and travel to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in CS/IT/Network Eng (preferred).
• 2+ years hands-on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Experience with console connections and network device installation.
• Familiarity with structured cabling and patch panels.
• Ability to follow technical instructions accurately and work within documented procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with remote technical teams.
• Ability to travel to customer locations when required.
• Working at Heights Training Certificate and Medical Fitness Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support to enable remote troubleshooting and remediation.
• Connect to devices via console and support remote access sessions.
• Perform basic configuration as instructed (IP/VLAN) and basic checks.
• Rack mounting/unmounting and patching cables per site rules.
• Coordinate with Remote Support Team for post-install verification.
