Brilliant Computers in Modderfontein, South Africa is seeking an onsite Network Hands & Feet Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure. You will assist with physical access, device rack and stack, and basic configuration under remote guidance.

Travel to customer locations may be required. The role emphasizes following documented procedures, accurate cabling, and clear communication with remote teams to ensure smooth installations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Experience with console connections and network device installation.
• Familiarity with structured cabling and patch panels.
• Ability to follow technical instructions accurately and work within documented procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with remote technical teams.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations when required.
• Working at Heights Training Certificate. Medical Fitness Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite assistance to enable remote troubleshooting and remediation.
• Establish console connectivity to network devices as instructed by Remote Support Team.
• Provide physical access support at customer sites (opening racks, locating devices/ports, power cycling).
• Visual verification and reporting of LED status, link status, alarms, fan/power status, and cabling condition.
• Rack and stack network devices per site rules and safety practices.
• Patch and dress cables to professional standards as instructed.
• Coordinate with Remote Support Team for post-install verification.
• Assist with basic configuration steps as instructed (IP/VLAN, remote access).
