Job summary

Brilliant Computers in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, seeks a Network Hands & Feet to support onsite installations and assist with remote troubleshooting under guidance from the Remote Support Team.

You will verify cabling, assist with rack mounting, perform basic device configuration, and ensure connectivity while traveling to customer sites as required. This role requires a technical diploma, hands-on network experience, and strong communication with remote teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years hands-on experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
• Basic networking concepts: TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers and firewalls.
• Experience with console connections and network device installation.
• Familiarity with structured cabling and patch panels.
• Ability to follow technical instructions accurately and work within documented procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with remote technical teams.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations when required.
• Working at Heights Training Certificate and Medical Fitness Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite network support and remote troubleshooting under guidance of Remote Support Team.
• Identify network equipment types, ports and patch panel layouts; verify link status.
• Rack mounting/unmounting and cable management per site rules.
• Coordinate with Remote Support Team for post-install verification.
• Perform basic configuration steps only as instructed and approved.
• Report status via documentation and maintain professional standards.
