Job summary

Brilliant Computers in Western Cape is seeking an on-site Network Support Engineer to assist remote troubleshooting and remediation with enterprise devices. You will connect via console interfaces, perform basic configurations, and report on device status with remote team collaboration.

Responsibilities include rack and cabling tasks, post-install verification, and occasional travel to customer sites. Strong communication and independent work at client locations are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or Network Engineering.
2+ years of hands-on enterprise network support.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, switches, routers, and firewalls.
Experience with console connections and device installation.
Ability to follow documented procedures and work independently.

Responsibilities

Assist onsite to enable remote troubleshooting and remediation.
Connect to network devices using console interfaces per instructions.
Perform basic checks: verify link lights and port status.
Rack mounting/unmounting and cabling per site rules.
Coordinate with Remote Support Team for post-install verification.
Travel to customer locations as required.
