Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY SOUTH AFRICA (PTY) LTD is seeking an OSS Specialist to provide desk-side IT support and ensure ready-to-use devices for users in Modderfontein, Gauteng. You will collaborate with IT teams to resolve incidents and maintain high service quality in a manufacturing environment.

You will manage hardware inventory, coordinate logistics, and assist OEM warranty processes, while training users on self-service tools and IT best practices.

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma, or other formal qualification in Information Technology from an accredited institution.
• 3–5 years of relevant IT support experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the local language.
• Legal authorization to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Provide desk-side IT support to users and collaborate with IT support teams to resolve incidents.
• Ensure computers and devices are delivered fully configured and ready to use.
• Offer guidance and ad hoc training on common IT issues and self-service tools.
• Manage CMDB inventory and perform regular hardware audits.
• Coordinate device transportation and relocations with approved providers.
• Handle warranty claims and repairs with OEM vendors.
• Assist third-party technicians during onsite activities and support production environments.
