Job summary

The OSS Specialist at Hitachi Energy South Africa (PTY) LTD provides desk-side IT support to users, addressing incidents that require in-person assistance and ensuring devices are ready for use in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with multiple IT teams, manage device inventories via the CMDB, coordinate onsite activities, and contribute to service improvements and governance within the OSS function.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant IT support experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and local language.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve IT-related issues promptly.
• Ensure devices are configured and ready for use.
• Provide guidance and ad-hoc training on IT issues.
• Manage device inventory and CMDB records.
• Coordinate device transport with approved logistics providers.
• Support end users in meeting rooms and collaboration spaces.
• Assist third-party technicians onsite.
• Adhere to OSS governance and SOPs and ensure consistent service delivery.
