Job summary

Hitachi Energy South Africa (Pty) Ltd invites applications for an OSS Specialist to provide desk-side IT support, addressing issues with users and collaborating across IT teams. You will be the primary interface between users and IT functions, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

The role requires 3-5 years of IT support experience, a formal IT qualification, and strong English and local language communication.

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma, or other formal qualification in Information Technology from an accredited institution.
• 3-5 years of relevant IT support experience is expected.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the local language.

Responsibilities

• Provide Desk-Side Support to IT users and resolve incidents.
• Ensure devices are delivered fully configured and ready to use.
• Offer guidance and ad hoc training on common IT issues and self-service tools.
• Manage hardware inventory and CMDB records; perform stock checks.
• Coordinate device transportation and relocation with approved logistics.
• Handle warranty claims and repairs with OEM vendors.
• Identify risks affecting OSS services and report them.
• Support end users in meeting rooms and collaboration spaces.
• Coordinate with third-party technicians onsite and monitor infrastructure.
