Job summary

Komatsu in Johannesburg is seeking a Product Support Specialist to provide 24/7 emergency support, deploy new and existing solutions on customer servers and field equipment, and ensure proper installation and system functionality. You will follow established procedures, document outcomes, and coach peers to maintain deployment quality.

The role requires 3-5 years of hands-on experience, a BSc in CS/Engineering, and excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

B Sc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
3-5 years’ experience in relevant field.
Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English; another major language is a plus.

Responsibilities

Determine most efficient way to create functionality
Meet customer requirements
Document the functionality properly; install functionality on-site with minimal disruption
Properly use ticketing system to track ticket status
Diagnose root cause of problems
Complete repairs within SLA timeframes
Get system to function properly as quickly as possible
Provide technical customer support through assigned processes; update, test and QA methods
Open and complete support tickets with required fields
Support clients for local region and other regions via Follow-The
Perform analysis on system usage to identify improvement opportunities
