Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead significant operational improvement projects in the Nelspruit region. You will drive efficiency, productivity and safety across mining operations while coordinating with engineers, geologists, and contractors.

Qualifications

Minimum 8 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in the mining or heavy industrial sector.
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale operational or capital projects.
Strong knowledge of mining processes, equipment, and safety standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project management software and relevant technical tools.
Relevant degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
PMP certification is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

Manage the planning, execution, and closure of projects focused on operational efficiency and technological upgrades in mining.
Ensure all projects adhere to strict safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
Coordinate with mine engineers, geologists, production teams, and external contractors.
Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to prevent operational disruptions.
Monitor project performance, report on progress, and communicate key updates to senior management and stakeholders.
