Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Operations Manager for our client in Midrand. The role entails leading a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe and efficient extraction, and driving operational excellence to meet production targets.

You will collaborate with geological, engineering, and safety departments to implement strategic initiatives, manage budgets, and maintain high standards of performance and compliance in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in mining operations management with progression to senior leadership.
• Proven track record managing large-scale mining projects and achieving targets.
• Strong understanding of open-pit or underground mining methods, equipment and tech.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational plans to meet production targets and optimize resources.
• Lead multidisciplinary mining teams, promoting safety and high performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of mining equipment and infrastructure to maximize uptime.
• Conduct site inspections and performance reviews to drive improvements and corrective actions.
• Manage operational budgets, control costs, and meet financial targets.
